MICHAEL MOORE'S LATEST FILM 'FAHRENHEIT 9/11'
It was the first time in almost 50 years that a DOCUMENTARY has won the Palme d'OR (the top prize of the Cannes Film festival).
Disney, other distributors and even the white house are not willing to show Michael Moore's new controversial documentary. This is because the film involves the president of America, George W Bush and not in a positive way, for Michael Moore does want to get George Bush removed form the office.
The movie includes some footages of the September 11th terrorist act with the Twin towers and the Iraq war. As it tries to show George Bush's regardance of the terrorism.
Super size me
Super Size me is about a man, Morgan Spurlock who creates a movie in which he eats only fast food for a month, trying to find out what Fast food alone in your life can do to you.
The film explores issues such as food addictions and the extreme measures that have to be taken to regain health. The idea of the movie came to him when he was stuffing his face in thanksgiving turkey and then saw a couple of girls in the news sueing Mc Donalds.
I believe the main reason the Morgan tried to do was to show to the world the dangers that Fast food can do to you. During the film you see Morgan has to be rushed to the doctors and vomitting.
however there were two fast food devotees, Soso Whaley and Deshan Wood set out to the public before even seeing the movie. The prove to the world that Mc Donalds is not as bad as it seems. They set to the challenge of having nothing but Mc Donalds for a month. However, they minimise their diets to 7.5 kj and drinking only diet soft drinks.
CULTURE JAMMING AND THE ART OF SNIGGLE
The subversive activities that i could be invovled in is to stop stupid people from vandalising the crap as it is school that i go to. It took me ages writing a blog because of the slow computers they have because they had to spend so much money mending vandalism and not enough on this computer.
I would send a video clip to the council showing them trespass into the school, without entering some how, vandalising the school. I believe that this plan would not be that successful because i probably could not be stuff to do this anyway.

MICRONATIONS
Micronations are a created virtual, imaginary state, country or island that has a fictional history, territory, government and language expressed on their own website. Micronations are an online community individuals that are interested in building a nation.
People who are interested in micronations either focus on the nations, the constructive side, where you build buildings etc, and some focus on the political side, involving elections and campaigning or they might revolve around a Micronation internet forum.
People create 'Micronations' because, hmm... i guess it is interesting and is a new way to "connect to the virtual world".
The league of Micronations, is an organization, in which other micronations that people have created online, participate in to strengthen up relationships, express opinions and provides a place for other micronation communities to support each other. The micronation itself exist only to the creator and its participants.
KINGDOM OF BABKHA
This micronation stimulates persian culture, civil and political institution and society. (As mention on the first sentence.) Apparently, it is a 'real' place however, it has no inhabitants.
The site wants to start a micronation of Badka so that Badka can have its own virtual community.
The history and culture of this micronation is extremely detailed, which is why I am not going to read it...all. The history involves both factual and fictional elaborate information and description.
THE KINGDOM OF MOROVIA
This micronation is probably set our in a more formal, more organized way than the micronation, BADKA and it contains even more writing. The micronation was probably made before the micronation that i mentioned before because it was supposedly, the biggest and fastest growing micronation. Apparently, it has joined up with another type of micronation, alias 'Reunion'. The site has alot of text exactly the same style as the micronation that i had mentioned before and, this micronation being pretty big it is probably been created longer and the 'Badka' micronation had copied some text from it.
The Micronation started of as a Republic but then changed to a monarchy. (It is usually the other way around which makes this micronation unique.) Therefore, there is a king, i think it is 'KING VINCENT'. It is extremely detailed, containing all areas of information and constitutions etc that are required in a community (i think).

If i was to choose a free topic, i would usually choose to write on my favourite hobby, which is to play tennis. However, i've wrote about tennis so many times that it got boring.
This time i will talk about the next best thing, which is table tennis.
The sport is like a mini version of the game, tennis, except set on a little table.
Table tennis doesn't involve as much skill in tennis. You don't have to move around that much except you do need speed. You don't need power just technique.
I use to play table tennis all the time at my cousin's when i was in yr 7. Thats when I first got interest in the sport. I enjoy playing the sport because i enjoyed smashing the little ping-pong ball and if you are good at the sport, you would smash almost all the time.
I didn't really know how to play yet at the start of year 6, that was because it was not a very common sport at the time. As soon as i got into High school, The sport was mentioned constantly.
The next topic that i iwill be talking about is 'the hobbit'. The hobbit is more favourite book. I only read it not that long ago. I wasn't much of a reader, so i didn't really read many books, and i didn
't really knew what sort of books to read. My friends (who were like book worms) had told me about the book. They told me that the book was like an introduction, before 'The Lord of the Rings'.
THe book started of a little borish, which is why it took a while for me to read it and i didn't really reach the end of it in time for the book review that i chose to do the book for. Except i finished the book after and i listed it, out of the few books that i have read, as the best book ive have ever read, and the longest which isn't really long for many readers.
'THe hobbit' revolves around 'a hobbit', which is a new specie of creature -very like a human but very short and have good listening skills- namely, Bilbo Baggins.
He sets on an adventure with Gandalf -A wizard-, with 13 dwarves. THey come across many dangerous situations on their quest to reobtain the treasure that Smaug, the dragon who stole it from the dwarves in the first place and guarded it ever since.
Mid year last year, i went on a trip to Queensland at the Gold Coast. My family and I, my cousins and my cousins girlfriend and sister, went to the Gold Coast by a Van, that was fit for 11 people. We didn't take a plane because it was too expensive.
The van didn't seem so bad at first, at 3.00 in the morning. Except, after a while, it started to get all stuffy and even the window opening wasn't good enough. This took a while for me to sleep.
We made alot of stops on the way to Sydney (Our first main stop at my Aunty's house to pick up my Grandma who was also coming with us), most of the stops were at Mc Donalds. By the First day, I had Mc Donalds for breakfast, lunch and dinner, which is why by the end of the trip i was sick of Mc Donalds.
We had a good night sleep at my Aunty's house, except by the next day, we went on the road again to the Gold Coast. My cousin (Tony, our driver) was expecting us to reach Queensland at 12.00 in the morning, and we did reach the GOld coast 12.00Am on the dot. Most of us were asleep at the time when we just reached Queensland, except i was not.
We had to roam around in a van, because we were suppose to go to a petrol station, which supposedly had the key to the house that were staying at. We went to the BP petrol station which was right next to the real estate, as told except the people inside the petrol station apparently did not have the key to the house we were staying. We wandered around to other petrol stations, which we didn't think that they had it but we went there to ask for directions.
Finally we gave up on getting the key, we were all pissed by the way, so we went to our house that we were suppose to stay and I slept in the van. About 3.00Am, my cousin had paid a lock smith (which was a heavy charge) to get into our stay. And that was the the long, annoying trip to Queensland.
GOALS
At the end of last year and the beginning of this year (this was the summer holidays) i've had alot fo goals set for this year as a starting point for my future careers.
This year i was planning to get a job at a chemist, to start of my career of owning a chemist/becoming a pharmacist. I want to know what happens inside a chemist, though i already did a month before i thought of this at work experience. I've always thought a chemist was different to the one that i worked at for work experience, which is why i want to go to other chemists to see what they are like.
Plans changed, when i took chinese school again. Every single year (last 5 years), i get annoyed at the fact of waking up early on Saturday and trying to cope chinese school. Except this year was different, I wanted to see my friends at Chinese school, one more year before i leave.
The annoying thing was, when i went to Chinese school, it was not worth seeing my friends again, because this years teacher was the saming annoying, teacher who can't speak English at all. I can't really understand mandarin that well so i prefer a teacher that can speak chinese.
Anyway, I was planning to get a casual job on Saturdays, except i wimped out and went to Chinese school. I wasn't expecting to get a job at a chemist anyway, the chemist was a hard place to get a job, and the only reason why I like working at a chemist is because you can dispense prescriptions. Except, this was illegal, so i would be able to dispense unless i was a pharmacy student which was years to come.
So now the goals for this years have been hold for another year, and i will definitely not continue chinese school next year.
My dream in life is to become a pharmacist, own a successful chemist, and become rich. I am not going to give up and some day i will achieve my goals.

Thorpe's Decision
Ian thorpe had lost his spot in the 400metres freestyle because of a false start. For the last couple of weeks, the pressure was on Craig Stevens to decide on whether to give up the 400metres for current world record holder, Ian Thorpe.
Recently, Craig Stevens made the decision to give up the 400 metres swim for Ian Thorpe and giving him a second opportunity to defend his records in the Olympic Games in Athens 2004.
The writer had believed it was a better thing to give up his 400 metre title. He was a good person to give up his event, in which few athletes would have done. And not only did the money benefitted Stevens, but he now only has to concentrate on his best event.
Craig Stevens national sacrifice is getting a little overcooked
In this article, the media felt a little edgy at the fact that Craig Stevens had made that sacrifice to give up a chance for an Olympic Medal. However the writer was leaning away from the media's point of view of things.
Craig Stevens had believed to have fluked the 400 metre race, and so the writer believed that the Stevens was right to not have continued with the event. His chances of winning a medal was not very good as his chance of winning a medal for his best event, the 1500 metres.
My opinion on the issue is that Craig Stevens should not have given away the event. He did not prove much Australian pride in sport when he took the money and gave up an event for another swimmer.
For all we know, Ian Thorpe could have a problem with startings. Ian Thorpe may well of false started in the real 400 metre freestyle event at the Athens Olympics 2004. Craig Stevens probably would have done better than Ian Thorpe himself if he did do it again.
However, though this doesn't really relate to this issue, i believe that it is a little harsh to have no chances for False starting.
I also believe that Ian Thorpe has won enough medals in his swimming career, as well as there is also the next Olympics and other competitions like the Olympics. Craig Stevens has to be good to come second and not false starting any way.
Craig Stevens should have continued his even, at least try to earn as much medals as he can, and maybe he could be come an australian hero one day.

50 First dates-
negative review
The review suggested that the previews had shown all the funny parts in advanced which is why it didn't seem as funny. It also suggested that the movie didn't turn out as funny because the movie was built around brain damage. The reviewer believes the movie did not have a real plot and only people who are fans of Adam Sandler will like it.
I disagree on the reviewer. I believe that the previews showed some of the funniest parts of the movie through the previews except, i believe the funny bits, even though they were shown in advanced, had came out better than expected and still there were alot more funny parts than in those movie previews or trailers.
Positive review
The reviewer believes, the trailer had shown some of the funny parts of the movie, except it does not really show how genuinely delightful the movie really is. The reviewer has also suggested that the movie had a decent ending and the movie is in between his usual movies like, "Billy Madison" and "Happy Gilmore" and the lighter movies like "The wedding singer" and "Punk-Drunk love"
I agree on most of those points.
I believe that the movie was funny and sad at the same time. It was sad because Lucy Whitmore (Drew Barrymore), had suffered short term memory loss, and has make up a whole portion of her life every single day.In between there were alot of funny scenes.
i believe the reviewers of these reviews, are not fans of Adam Sandler. This would affect the outcome of their reviews immensely because most of the funny scenes in the movie are from Adam Sandler or they are not the type of people who would like these sort of movies.

Some of the advantages of having a ‘Neopets’ is that it can make kids more responsible because they’re learning that living creatures (which they think Neopets are) need attention and care to live.
The site could help kids financially and consumerism for the future and how to live a capitalist country by the point earnings, saving and spending.
Some of the disadvantages of the site are that the site may upset kids when their Neopet dies or they may get to addicted to virtual world instead their reality.
The indoctrinating of capitalism may cause the kids to be greedy with money.

The people who reads blogs are teenagers who wants to find out what other people are thinking and people with shared interest with them could help them realise that they are not alone in this world. The way that relates to 'it connectedness in the virtual world" is because people are communicating through the computer by blogs for other people to read instead of reality with friends.
I cannot find a blog about the September 11 bombing. Probably because it was quite a while ago now.

hypertext theory is a way of linking pictures and other parts of the sites or other websites to specific words or phrases. They are often used to attach further information to the corresponding words in your blog/site. By connecting to the virtual world (a.k.a blogging), you can utilize hyperlinks in an organised fashion to correspond extra information. This is much more efficient and beneficial than an ordinary diary!

High Score Education
Games, not school, are teaching kids to think.
After much money is spent, How does this correspond to the improvements of kids academic perofrmnace. They learn to memoriese, but they dont now how to actually think.
Kids learn from playing video games, which each ones powerfully teaches something different. Each game has some form element that it is teaching.
As kids are more focused in playing games, rather then their schoolwork, they aim to do better at the video games. The video games seeks a certain point of difficulty that is just outside your range. However, as you play you would eventually pass that line of difficulty and another more challenging event occurs in the game.
Schools try to avoid this frustration which is the reason why their work aren't as challenging, hence, kids aren't learning as much.
Most people are oblivious, and kids don't even realise they are learning because they are too focused in playing. However, there needs to be further research in this area to confirm this hypothesis.
